What makes us different? Its partly genetic and partly due to our environment and
the food that weve eaten during our lives. Some people need a high
carbohydrate diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, low fat foods and
light meats. However, many dont! Eskimos traditionally
eat a diet that is very high in protein and fats. If you were an Eskimo, a
high carbohydrate, low fat diet would make you very unhealthy indeed. Many
people need a diet that is higher in darker meats and fats. This is the
reason that many people had some success on the Atkins diet. But, again,
not everybody needs a high protein, high fat diet and many people became
ill when they tried Atkins.
