Energy is everything!
Energy is everything! In fact, to stay alive, our body constantly needs to produce energy. We need energy for
every movement, from the blink of an eye, to the beat of your heart, to running a marathon. When we stop producing
energy, we die. But energy is not just important for survival, it is also important for quality of life. Life is
better when we feel energetic & alive. Most people live 100mph lifestyles, juggling work and family. It is our
belief that we should be able to positively enjoy the demands of life, rather than merely cope.

Everybody needs a mix of all three macro nutriants...
Much of our energy comes from the food we eat. Advertising, newspapers and magazines tell us that we need to
eat slow release carbohydrates to give us sustained energy. That is true, but it is only part of the picture.
In fact fats, proteins and carbohydrates all provide energy. Everybody needs a mix of all three to get stable,
sustained energy. Some people need slightly more carbohydrates, others need more proteins and fats, whilst
some need an almost equal balance between the three. Everyone is different! Many people who need more proteins and
fats feel very tired when they try weight watchers. Equally, people who need a higher proportion of carbohydrate
feel sluggish on Atkins. Even in our work with elite and professional athletes we find that the ideal mix is
highly individual. Not all athletes benefit from a high carbohydrate diet. In fact, most athletes need more
protein and fats to give them energy throughout their performance.

Many people experience tiredness and hunger if they eat the wrong balance...
Many people actually experience tiredness and hunger if they eat a diet that is high in carbohydrates and
starchy foods. Some athletes even find that they will fatigue more quickly if they have too many carbohydrates
and not enough proteins and natural fats. Vitamins and minerals are also a vital part of the energy equation.
Many vitamins help us to release the stored energy that is held in our cells. For example, vitamins help us to
release the energy that is locked up in fat cells.
